Margie Greve
BIO / STATEMENT
Margie Greve studied printmaking at Skidmore College, the Art Student’s League and the School of Visual Arts.
Her background working in the home sewing industry is evident in the use of embroidery, fabric and home sewing patterns collaged into the artwork. She has created many works of sewing machines and women sewing.
Margie created portraits for Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Crossroads: How the Blues Shaped Rock’n’Roll and Rock Saved the Blues, and Americanaland: Where Country & Western Met Rock’n’Roll.
