With a background in jewelry making, theatrical costuming, clothing design, and psychotherapy Ms. Orito has a complex view of art and art making.  Her art practice dates from the 1970s when she began to work with wire, acrylic paint, beads, faux pearls, papier mache, cast paper, torn paper, punched paper and cut paper.  She is a Maker, an Artist, a Designer, and a retired psychotherapist.  
As a sportswear designer in the garment industry and costume designer in the entertainment industry, she has had the opportunity to travel worldwide with visits to visiting many museums.   This global visual exposure became her artistic ’memory catalog’ which holds her attention and shapes her intention.
